
Dr. Mary Bousted, Secretary General at the Association of Teacher and Lecturers, states her ground firmly, saying that in the UK all the disciplinary problems such as lack of pupils’ attention, disrespect to teachers, usage of mobile phones in classes and verbal abuse of adults are caused by over-indulgent parents, who give children too much freedom of action to mind their own. At the ATL’s annual conference she also emphasized that “children who have no limits at home resent restrictions imposed at school”.
